The U.S. Embassy continues to support female empowerment in law enforcement by bringing specialized trainings to the regions of Georgia. On May 17-21, the International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Bureau (INL) of the U.S. Embassy in Tbilisi hosted a Women’s Leadership Skills Development training for female law enforcement professionals in Batumi, Georgia. Representatives from the regional offices of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Finance, and State Security Service of Georgia learned about their personality styles, emotional intelligence, management vs. leadership, and other leadership topics. The class was taught by INL Senior Police Advisor Larry Foukas. The U.S. Embassy will continue to encourage female participation in justice sector decision-making through trainings targeted at the professional growth and skills development of Georgia’s female law enforcement professionals.
