U.S. Embassy Office of Defense Cooperation Donation to Veteran’s Hospital

The U.S. Government, through its Office of Defense Cooperation, donated $267,000 in ultrasound, video-endoscopy and cardiology equipment to the Georgian Veterans’ Clinical Hospital, which will enable the facility to provide better medical services to the population, and specialized treatment for veterans. This donation was part of more than $500,000 in funding from U.S. EUCOM, provided to the Veterans’ Clinical Hospital through its Humanitarian Assistance Program.

Deputy Chief of Mission Rian Harris, Parliament of Georgia Defense and Security Committee Chair – Irakli Beraia, First Deputy Chair – Aleksandre Tabatadze and deputy chairs – Vladimer Chachibaia and Teona Akubardia participated in the hand-over ceremony. The donation of the equipment was made possible through our close partnership with Georgian National Guard which was represented by Deputy Commander Colonel Koba Akhvlediani.
