The U.S. Government, through the U.S. European Command Office of Defense Cooperation (ODC), donated six new Toyota Land Cruiser high-mobility vehicles to the Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Interior of Georgia. The donation is part of the U.S. Department of Defense Humanitarian Assistance (HA) Program. These vehicles fully meet the requirements of Georgia’s mountainous terrain to support prevention, readiness, and response activities for natural and manmade disasters. The vehicles will be used to transfer personnel during forest fires, search teams for rescue operations, and other emergency responses. The donation is part of a larger effort by the U.S. European Command assisting Georgia to improve emergency preparedness of the country with both equipment donations and training.
