U.S. Government Helps Georgia Diversify Wheat Imports
Last week was the culmination of the U.S. Department of Agriculture-sponsored long-term initiative aimed at developing possible solutions to decrease Georgia’s dependence on imported Russian wheat flour. With U.S. Government assistance, Kansas State University conducted a wheat production and processing assessment which was presented to the Georgian government and industry experts. The assessment provided an understanding of the wheat supply chain for Georgia and recommendations for diversifying imports and wheat and/or flour from the Russian Federation.
