U.S. media experts work with Georgian Association of Regional Broadcasters (GARB) to support regional media (March 23 – 27)


From March 23-27, through the U.S. Embassy-funded Georgian Media Partnership Program (GMPP), implemented by IREX, the Georgian Association of Regional Broadcasters (GARB) hosted American media experts in Georgia.

President and general manager of TV station WDBJ7, Jeffrey Marks, and founder and CEO of the digital marketing company Firefli, Greg Brock, both from Roanoke, Virginia, worked clobrocksely with GARB management and staff on consultative sales, production, promotion, leadership and staff development.

Additionally, over the course of the week, the American experts discussed preparing the station and viewers for the digital switchover, jointly designing network programming and ensuring adherence to ethical reporting norms. They also met with the GARB Board members, representatives of the Georgian Charter of Journalism Ethics and staff of the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy.
