US Exchange Program Alumni Association of Georgia holds conference on Intellectual Property Rights (October 24)

On October 24 in Tbilisi, the US Government-supported Exchange Program Alumni Association of Georgia, EPAG, held a conference on the topic of “Challenges facing the protection of Intellectual Property Rights in Georgia.”  The conference discussed complex topics such as the role of Internet service providers in protecting copyright, collective management of authors’ rights in Georgia, protection of patents and inventions, and other relevant issues.  Guest speakers at the conference  included representatives of the Georgian National Intellectual Property Centre “Sakpatenti” and representatives of the Georgian Copyright Association, as well as experts working in intellectual property field. The goal of the conference was to help raise public awareness about Intellectual Property Rights and support the professional growth of specialists of this field.
