US – Georgian Partnership on Strengthening National Capacity to Dispose of Unserviceable Ammunition

The United States is proud to partner with Georgia @MoDGovGE to strengthen national capacity to dispose of unserviceable ammunition. Through @ITFsi, the $2.3 million project has disposed of 473 tons of ammo since July 2021. The project is also upgrading infrastructure and providing technical advice and equipment to safely store and process the unserviceable ammo.  The effort strengthens Georgia’s security in line with its strategic national objectives. Since 1998, the United States has provided more than $45 million for conventional weapons destruction #CWD efforts in Georgia.  For more information, see this report: https://www.state.gov/reports/to-walk-the-earth-in-safety-2022/
