US Government Hands Over Border Security Equipment to Georgian Border Security Agencies (June 19)

On June 19, Ambassador Norland attended a ceremony at Georgia’s border crossing in Sarpi where the US government handed over state-of-the-art scanning equipment to Georgian border security agencies.  The equipment will be used to assist Georgia further secure its borders.  Ambassador Norland expressed continued US government support to Georgia’s border security agencies and commended them on their important work.  The ceremony was organized within the framework of the US Department of State’s  Export Control and Related Border Security program.
