The Regional Disease Surveillance Working Group (RDWSG) Conference was held in Batumi, Georgia from 31 March to 2 April. Sponsored by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), the conference brought together human and veterinary health officials from Georgia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkey. The event allowed participants to actively engage in discussions and share information and ideas related to regional disease surveillance and awareness. Georgia’s Minister of Heath Davit Sergeenko attended the event and noted the importance of regional disease surveillance cooperation. Additionally, all of the RDSWG members signed a Memorandum of Understanding committing to cooperation.
