The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in collaboration with the National Food Agency and Ministry of Agriculture supported the travel of the Government of Georgia (GOG) delegation to the Sanitary and Phytosanitary (SPS) Committee Meeting October 30 – November 3, 2017 at WTO Secretariat, Geneva. The group attended the SPS Committee meeting and participated in bilateral negotiations with the U.S. and other delegations.

The GOG participation in the SPS Committee Meeting ensures Georgia has a more active role on issues critical to Georgia’s trade sector; it effectively accomplishes the procedural requirements, carries out the negotiations, and provides answers to questions posed by SPS Committee members, including the United States.
