Ambassador Degnan traveled to Batumi to welcome U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Hamilton’s crew to Georgia. Ambassador Degnan and Captain Cronin met with Georgian government leaders and gave them a tour of Hamilton. Before arriving in Batumi, the crew of Hamilton trained underway with the Georgian Coast Guard for two days, improving readiness and interoperability. This visit is another symbol of our close defense and security cooperation and the United States’ commitment to Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders.
