Good morning! My name is Caption Brian  Finman, I am Deputy Commander of the Amphibious  Ready Group.  The USS Oak Hill is one of our three ships.  I have been embarked while the ship is operating in the Black Sea.  On behalf of the United States Navy and the commander of the Sixth Fleet I want to say that we are very excited to be here in Batumi, Georgia.  We are here to promote friendship and partnership between the United States Navy and the people of Georgia.  This welcoming ceremony that we had today, in my 25 years of experience, is the warmest and most wonderful welcome I have ever seen for a ship arriving in a port.  So it is a very exciting way to begin what we hope will be a very rewarding three-day visit to Batumi.

Commanding  Officer of USS Oak Hill Philip Knight

Good morning!  Thank you so much for this tremendous, tremendous reception.  My name is Commander Philip Knight, I am the Commanding Officer of the USS Oak Hill LSD 51. On behalf of the 700 sailors and marines onboard, [let me say that] we are delighted to be here. Thank you so much for your hospitality.  We look forward to immersing ourselves in Georgian culture and being tremendous guests and ambassadors of the United States while visiting the city of Batumi.   Thank you so much for your time and I look forward to meeting you all in the days to come.
