Visit to Georgia by General Philip M. Breedlove, Commander of U.S. Military Forces in Europe (March 22)

General Philip Breedlove, commander of U.S. militabreedlovery forces in Europe, arrived in Georgia on March 22 for a two-day visit.  General Breedlove, who is also NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, met with Georgia’s President Giorgi Margvelashvili who awarded Breedlove with the Order of the Golden Fleece for “a significant contribution made to Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration and to deepenibreedlove2ng of the U.S-Georgian defense relations.”  During his visit to Georgia, General Breedlove is also meeting with Minister of Defense Tinatin Khidasheli and Chief of the General Staff of the Georgian Armed Forces Major General Vakhtang Kapanadze.  General Breedlove’s visit demonstrates the importance of U.S.–Georgia bilateral relations and the United States military’s appreciation of the Georgian Armed Forces’ continued contributions to international security missions.
