The COVID-19 crisis has demonstrated the importance of investing in and empowering biomedical professionals in Georgia. The U.S. Government is committed to contributing to the education and professional development of emerging student leaders in the biomedical research sciences.

Yesterday, Ambassador Kelly C. Degnan joined NCDC Director Dr. Amiran Gamkrelidze and Deputy Director Dr. Paata Imnadaze at the fourth annual graduation ceremony and Internship Capstone Exercise for Georgian students participating in the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) – San Diego State University (SDSU)-Tbilisi State University (TSU) internship program.

The U.S. Embassy congratulates Ani Chichua and Devi Oniani and looks forward to working with them throughout their careers as leaders in Georgian biomedical research.
