WHO Collaborating Center Opens In Georgia

The continued support and commitment of the Georgian government and people has been critical to the success of the nation’s Hepatitis C Elimination Program. Embassy Tbilisi and CDC are proud to be a part of the collective efforts of clinicians, scientists, policymakers, and members of civil society who have supported Georgia in this bold public health effort from the beginning, when the nation began the world’s first national hepatitis C virus (HCV) elimination program in 2015. We look forward to continuing this partnership following the launch of the WHO Collaborating Center on Viral Hepatitis Elimination. These efforts toward hepatitis elimination will improve the lives and health of countless Georgians and inspire many nations to realize the possibilities of hepatitis elimination for their people.
