On February 20, the U.S. Embassy invited young women from Tbilisi, Akhalgori, and Gali to discuss the importance of women’s involvement in peace building and learn about educational opportunities in the United States.  During the discussion, embassy officers Tracey Newell and Gabrielle Cowan shared their thoughts on how women can establish themselves as leaders, and Ambassador Richard Norland greeted the women and discussed U.S. efforts toward peaceful resolution of the conflicts in the occupied territories of Georgia.  The young women visited the U.S. Embassy as part of an education program organized by NGO Helping Hands and the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia.
